About Time Warriors

Time Warriors is a strategy and action game developed by HG DEVS (Happy Games Studio). Released in October 2024 and built with HTML5 technology, the game has earned a 9.0/10 rating from over 17,700 votes on CrazyGames. The concept is simple but addictive: you command an army that progresses through historical ages — Stone Age, Farm Age, and beyond — all the way to futuristic sci-fi warfare. Each age introduces unique units with new abilities and tactical possibilities. The core mechanic blends real-time unit deployment with resource management: spend "food" to send soldiers into battle, spend coins to upgrade your army and base between fights. With one-click controls that work on both desktop and mobile, this free online game is accessible to casual players while offering genuine strategic depth for veterans. It runs on any modern browser as an HTML5 game with no installation needed.

Deploying Units

Your army is deployed from a unit panel at the bottom of the screen. At any time, you have three available unit types to choose from. Deploying a unit costs food (displayed as "meat" on the lower panel). The food-to-soldier ratio works as follows:

  • 3 food = deploy 1 soldier.
  • 6 food = deploy 2 soldiers.
  • And so on — every 3 food unlocks one additional troop.

Once deployed, soldiers march automatically toward the enemy base. You choose when and which units to send, but they fight on their own once in the field. Timing your deployments — sending waves at the right moment rather than trickling soldiers one at a time — is the core strategic decision in every battle.

Resources

The game uses two resource types:

  • Food (meat) — The primary battle resource. It regenerates over time during combat and is spent to deploy units. Displayed on the lower panel.
  • Coins — The upgrade currency. Earned from winning battles and used between fights to improve your army and base. Displayed in the top-left corner.

Managing food flow during battle is critical. Deploy too aggressively and you run out of soldiers at a key moment; wait too long and the enemy overwhelms your base first.

Upgrades

Before each battle, access the upgrade tab to spend coins on permanent improvements:

  • Base health — Increases how much damage your base can absorb before being destroyed.
  • Food recovery speed — Makes food regenerate faster during combat, letting you deploy soldiers more frequently.
  • Weapon upgrades (e.g., grindstone) — Sharpens your soldiers' weapons so they deal more damage per hit.
  • War banner — Rallies your troops to fight harder as a unified force.

These upgrades carry into every subsequent battle, so investing early compounds your advantage across all future levels.

Evolving Through the Ages

Each level corresponds to a different historical era. You start in the Stone Age (roughly 70,000–20,000 BC), where your soldiers wield clubs and face primitive enemies. Progress to the Farm Age (12,000–4,000 BC), where enemies carry shovels and better weaponry. Continue advancing through subsequent eras — each introducing unique units, stronger enemies, and new tactical challenges — all the way to futuristic ages featuring advanced technology and combat robots.

Every age shift changes the battlefield. Units look different, fight differently, and require different strategies to deploy effectively. Adapting your approach to each era's strengths and weaknesses is what separates good commanders from great ones.

Win and Lose Conditions

  • Win — Destroy the enemy base. Even if enemy soldiers remain, the battle ends once their base falls.
  • Lose — Your base is destroyed, or your entire army is eliminated with no food left to deploy reinforcements.

Time Warriors Tips and Strategies

  1. Rush the enemy base early, not their soldiers. Your objective is to destroy the base, not kill every enemy unit. In early levels like the Stone Age, deploying a wave of soldiers directly toward the enemy base before they can build defenses is often the fastest path to victory. Ignore individual enemy troops and push straight for the structure.
  2. Stockpile food before deploying in waves. Sending one soldier at a time is inefficient — they get picked off before reaching the base. Wait until you have 6–9 food, then deploy 2–3 soldiers simultaneously as a wave. A concentrated push overwhelms enemy defenses far more effectively than a slow trickle.
  3. Upgrade food recovery speed first. Faster food regeneration means more soldiers deployed per battle. This upgrade has a compounding effect — it benefits every single fight going forward. Prioritize it over base health in early levels when enemies are still weak.
  4. Invest in the grindstone for damage upgrades before pushing harder eras. When enemies start surviving longer (Farm Age onward), your soldiers need to deal more damage per hit. The grindstone upgrade ensures your troops can cut through tougher enemies without needing to outnumber them significantly.
  5. Watch the enemy deployment pattern before committing your main wave. Each level has a rhythm — enemies deploy at specific intervals. Observe the first few seconds of a battle to understand when enemy waves come, then time your deployment to hit during gaps. Fighting fewer enemies per wave means fewer losses and faster base destruction.
  6. Do not neglect base health in later ages. Early on, offense wins. But as enemies grow stronger in advanced eras, your base can fall quickly if left undefended. A few extra points in base health buys you critical seconds to deploy reinforcements when an enemy wave breaks through.
  7. Replay earlier levels for extra coins. If a new age feels too difficult, go back and replay completed levels. The coins earned let you purchase upgrades that make the challenging level significantly easier. A few minutes of farming saves frustration on a tough progression wall.
