Later dungeon zones introduce abrupt difficulty increases. One decisive upgrade is worth more than three incremental ones at these breakpoints.
Gunner and Wizard have mid-range effective zones, Archer excels at long range, and Thief operates at close range with shurikens. Positioning at your class's optimal range maximizes your auto-attack damage output while minimizing the time enemies spend within striking distance. Moving too close as an Archer wastes the dodge advantage; staying too far as a Thief means shurikens miss or deal reduced damage.
