Santa Run is a fast-paced Christmas-themed endless runner game built as an HTML5 browser game. Released in December 2023 by Inlogic, it casts you as Santa Claus dashing through winter wonderlands to recover stolen gold from a mischievous raccoon while dodging every hazard in your path. The game combines lane-switching mechanics with collectible power-ups and escalating difficulty, creating sessions that are easy to start but hard to put down.
The festive visuals — snowy roads, holiday decorations, and cheerful winter scenery — give Santa Run a warm seasonal atmosphere that appeals to players of all ages. As a free online game, it runs directly in your browser on both desktop and mobile, requiring no downloads or sign-ups. Whether you have two minutes or twenty, this browser game delivers quick bursts of holiday excitement with every run.
Santa Run offers simple controls that work on both keyboard and touch devices:
Santa runs forward automatically. Your job is to steer, jump, and slide to keep him alive as long as possible.
The running course is divided into multiple lanes. You move Santa between lanes to avoid oncoming obstacles like trains, rolling snowballs, barriers, and ice cubes. Quick lane switches are the primary way to dodge hazards, so keeping your fingers ready on the left and right keys is essential.
Candies are scattered throughout the course and directly contribute to your score. Grab as many as you safely can without risking a collision. In addition to candies, several power-ups appear along the route:
Power-ups are game-changers, but don't veer into danger just to reach one. Grab them when they fall in your natural path.
The longer you survive, the faster Santa runs and the more densely obstacles populate the track. Early sections are relatively forgiving, giving you time to learn lane patterns and timing. After the first minute or so, the pace ramps up significantly. Obstacles appear in tighter clusters, power-ups become more spread out, and split-second reactions are required to stay alive.
One collision instantly ends the run unless you have a helmet or active hoverboard. There are no checkpoints or extra lives.
The center lane gives you the most options — you can dodge left or right at any moment. Players who stick to the edges often get trapped when obstacles appear on both sides, leaving only the center as an escape route they can't reach in time.
A helmet is essentially a free life. If you see a helmet and a score multiplier in different lanes, always go for the helmet. One extra collision absorb is worth far more than a temporary score boost, especially in later stages where a single mistake ends everything.
Quick, deliberate taps produce cleaner lane changes than holding the key. Holding can cause Santa to slide two lanes instead of one, potentially sending you straight into an obstacle you were trying to avoid. One tap per lane change keeps your positioning precise.
Don't activate your hoverboard immediately when you pick it up. Instead, save it for a moment when you're about to collide or when the track becomes extremely crowded. The hoverboard's collision protection is most valuable as a panic button during the fastest sections of the run.
Most players react to the very next obstacle and get blindsided by what follows immediately after. Train your eyes to look at the next two incoming hazards at once. This lets you plan a path through back-to-back obstacles instead of dodging one and crashing into the next.
Sliding is faster than jumping and keeps you closer to the ground, giving you quicker recovery time for the next obstacle. If a barrier can be cleared by either jumping or sliding, choose the slide. You'll return to normal movement sooner.
Candies placed near tight obstacle clusters are bait. Going for them often leads to a collision that ends your run. If a candy line leads directly toward an obstacle, skip it. Your score from surviving longer will far exceed a few extra candies collected recklessly.
