How to Play Tailed Demon Slayer

Your fox hero automatically fights waves of demons. Your job is to manage upgrades, time powerful abilities, and push through progressively harder stages.

Controls

Tailed Demon Slayer uses simple click/tap controls:

Stage Progression and Boss Fights

The game is divided into numbered stages. Each stage sends waves of demon enemies at your hero. After every10 waves, you face aboss. Defeating the boss advances you to the next level. If you fail to beat the boss within its time limit, you stay on the current level and continue fighting regular demons to earn resources for upgrades. You can manually summon the boss again when you feel ready.

Auto Mode

You unlockAuto Mode at stage 5. When enabled, your hero automatically uses skills and fights without your input. Auto mode uses your skills faster than manual play, making it more efficient for farming resources. Use manual control when you want to save a powerful ability for a specific boss encounter.

Weapons

Your hero can wieldfour weapon typessimultaneously, divided by range:

• Short Range— Rapier (lunging attacks) and Hammer (heavy strikes).
• Mid Range— Gatling Gun (rapid fire) and Spear (sweeping attacks).
• Long Range— Crossbow (arrow barrages) and War Fan (area magic).

You equipthree weapons at a timein the original game, or up to four depending on progression. Each weapon has its own skill set and mastery tree. Using a weapon increases its proficiency, making it permanently stronger. Focus your upgrades on your preferred weapon loadout rather than spreading resources across all six.

Equip your highest-grade fairies for maximum benefit —Sinbadis widely considered the best early fairy due to its massive attack boost, even at low grades. Every fairy you own provides a passive “Effect in Possession” stat bonus, so collecting more fairies strengthens your hero even when they are not actively equipped.

Guardians

Guardiansare powerful summon creatures activated by filling a gauge through combat:

• Jujak— A fire owl that deals massive area damage and damage over time.
• Hyoryu— A frost dragon that slows enemy movement speed, ideal for ranged weapon loadouts.
• Kilin— A thunder beast that reduces enemy attack speed and gives your hero more time to heal.

Tailed Demon Slayer Tips and Strategies

1. Upgrade the Assist mastery tree first.Assist masteries (unlocking at character level 16) improve progression speed, return bonuses, and offline earnings. Early stages are easy enough that you do not need combat masteries yet. Investing in Assist lets you rush through stages faster and accumulate more Relic Pieces from returns.
2. Return (reset) frequently for Relic Pieces.Returning resets your stage progress but rewards Relic Pieces based on the highest stage reached. Relics are the strongest power multipliers in the game. UpgradeAbandoned Liquor BottleandTortoise Shellfirst — both B-grade relics that increase the Relic Pieces earned per return, creating a compounding loop.
3. Use Auto Mode for farming but disable Auto Guardian for bosses.Auto Mode cycles your skills faster than manual play, making it superior for clearing regular waves. But Auto Guardian wastes your summon on weak enemies. Save your guardian gauge for boss fights where the burst damage can push you past a wall.
4. Focus on three weapons — do not spread resources across all six.Each weapon has its own mastery tree and Fox Orb investment. Upgrading all six dilutes your resources and makes Ken weaker overall. Pick one short-range, one mid-range, and one long-range weapon, then pour all mastery points, skill stones, and Fox Orb Fragments into those three.
5. Equip Sinbad as your primary fairy early on.Even a low-grade Sinbad outperforms higher-grade alternatives because of its exceptional attack boost. Once you have a full roster of SS-grade fairies, you can reassess, but Sinbad carries you through the early and mid game better than any other fairy.
6. Summon equipment in bulk, then auto-merge.Single summons are inefficient. Save gems and summon in large batches to quickly fill the summoning meter, which unlocks access to higher-tier gear. After each bulk summon, tap Auto Level Up to merge all duplicates instantly — this is the fastest path to stronger equipment.
7. Follow the Quest Prompt religiously.The prompt on the side of the screen tells you exactly what to upgrade or attempt next. It provides gems as completion rewards and ensures balanced progression. When you are unsure what to do, the Quest Prompt always has the right answer.
