Landing and Looting

Every match starts aboard a flying battle bus that crosses the map. Choose when to jump and where to land — the choice is strategic. Quieter areas on the outskirts let you gear up safely, while central or built-up zones offer better loot at the cost of immediate enemy encounters. Once on the ground, search buildings, supply chests, and open areas for weapons, ammunition, health packs, energy drinks, and building materials. You start with only a basic pickaxe, so finding a ranged weapon quickly is critical to survival.

The Storm and Safe Zone

A shrinking safe zone circle forces players closer together as the match progresses. Anyone caught outside the safe zone takes storm damage over time. The safe zone shrinks in stages, with each new circle appearing on the map — check it frequently by pressingM. Moving early toward the next safe zone is almost always better than being forced to sprint through the storm at the last second.

Building and Destruction

PressQto enter building mode. Harvest resources by breaking trees (wood), rocks (stone), and structures (metal) with your pickaxe. Then build:

• Walls— Block incoming fire and create instant cover.
• Ramps— Gain height advantage for better sightlines and accuracy.
• Fortifications— Combine walls and ramps into towers, bunkers, or sniper nests.

Almost every structure in the game is destructible. You can blast through enemy walls with explosives or knock out the base of a tower to collapse it entirely. Building is not optional — it is a core combat skill that separates beginners from advanced players.

Vehicles

Drivable vehicles are scattered across the map. They let you cover large distances quickly to outrun the storm or reposition during fights. The tradeoff is noise — vehicles attract attention, so use them when speed matters more than stealth. PressVto exit a vehicle.

Fortzone Battle Royale Tips and Strategies

1. Land on the outskirts if you are new.Central and named locations attract aggressive players who rush for top-tier loot. The edges of the map have fewer enemies and enough basic weapons to get you started. Surviving the early game matters more than having the best gun in the first 30 seconds.
2. Always build when taking fire.Your first reaction to getting shot should be pressing Q and placing a wall. Even a single wall buys you a second to identify the enemy’s position. Players who shoot back without building first lose most fights because they take unnecessary damage while exposed.
3. Use ramps for height advantage in every fight.The player with the higher position wins most engagements because they can peek down to shoot while exposing less of their body. When you encounter an enemy, build a ramp immediately to get above them before firing.
4. Balance your inventory across weapon ranges.Carry at least one close-range weapon (shotgun) and one mid-to-long-range weapon (assault rifle or sniper). Fights happen at unpredictable distances, and being stuck with only a shotgun during a long-range encounter — or only a sniper in a close-quarters building — is a death sentence.
5. Move toward the safe zone early, not late.Players who wait until the storm is already closing get caught in chaotic scrambles where they take storm damage while also getting ambushed. Move early, set up in a defensive position inside the next circle, and let panicked late-movers come to you.
6. Destroy enemy structures at the base.If an opponent builds a tall tower, do not try to climb up to fight them. Shoot or explosives at the bottom supports instead — the entire structure collapses, dealing fall damage and leaving them exposed. This is faster, safer, and uses less ammo than a climbing assault.
7. Use third-person camera to peek corners.The third-person perspective lets you rotate the camera to see around walls and corners without exposing your character. Use this before every engagement to spot enemies first. The player who sees the other first almost always wins the fight.
